MOTORISTS and commuters will have to pay more for fuel this month as Energy and Water Utilities Regulatory Authority (EWURA) increased retail and wholesale prices for petrol and diesel due to the rise of world oil market prices.
The wholesale prices of petrol, diesel and kerosene have also increased by 55.49 per litre which equivalent to 2.84 per cent, 46.36/- per litre, 2.58 per cent and 80.87 equivalent to 4.63 per cent respectively.
“The increase in local prices has been attributed by the rise in the world oil market prices,” read part of the report. Motorists and commuters in Lugufu, Uvinza in Kigoma Region have high prices more than others in the country by 2,361, 2,197 and 2,182 for petrol, diesel and kerosene respectively.
Also the retail and wholesale prices for all petroleum products imported through the Tanga port have increased compared to the preceding month.
Thus for the month of November, retail prices of petrol, diesel and kerosene in the northern regions have increased by 112/- per litre equivalent to 5.60 per cent,122/- per litre which is 6.52 per cent change and 128 per litre equivalent to 7.10 per cent respectively.
Likewise, wholesale prices of Petrol, Diesel and Kerosene have also increased by 111.57/- per litre equivalent to 5.93 per cent, 122.44/- per litre which is equal 6.93 per cent change and 128.49 equivalent to 7.56 per cent respectively.
The changes in prices of petroleum products imported through the Tanga port are attributed to changes in the world oil market prices.
